Sweet & Savory Shrimp Tacos

A sweet yet savory meal prepared in less than 15 minutes. So simple you will surprise yourself, and your family too. This sweet & extra spicy version of your favorite seafood tacos for a flavorful and pleasantly satisfying twist.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ c. Imperial Sugar granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbsp firmly packed Imperial Sugar light brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp plain breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ c. salted butter, melted
  • 8-oz. (approx. 12 count) uncooked shrimp, peeled, deveined & tails removed
  • 4-6 (6-inch) corn tortillas, warmed
  • 1 c. broccoli slaw mix

For the Cream Sauce:

  • ¼ c. sour cream
  • ½ Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • ½ tsp chili powder
 

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 500° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Combine all the dry spice ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Add melted butter to a separate bowl.

  3. Dip shrimp into melted butter first, then thoroughly coat shrimp with spice mixture. Place coated shrimp on the prepared baking sheet.

  4. Bake shrimp for 5-6 minutes, or until shrimp is are pink and the coating starts to bubble.

  5. Meanwhile, combine cream sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

  6. Assemble tacos by adding 2-3 shrimp, 1/4 cup broccoli slaw, and drizzle with sour cream mixture.

  7. Enjoy!
